about

Prologue: Sweating from every pore, Chimalmat hacked through the last wall of thick vegetation and into the clearing. Her heart raced. Time stopped. The constant noise of birds and frogs suddenly ceased, as if she had walked into a sealed room and closed the door.

The air had a musty, strange smell. Before her loomed an ancient stone building. Vines and trees had taken root in the structure, encircling and strangling the walls. Thick columns now lay in ruins, swallowed and crushed by the jungle over many years.

Carefully, she navigated the broken entrance and stepped inside. Rows of broken seats fanned out in an amphitheatre facing a badly torn and rotting screen. Surveying the room, she took a seat in one of the dusty chairs. Sitting back, she waited, breathing deeply.

From behind her the sound of an antiquated film projector whirred into life. Dim light flickered onto the screen. Blurry images began to take shape. A relic from a world once secret and hidden, now finally to be revealed…
